Davis County, Utah’s Armored Bike Worx has a dedicated bicycle repair team. When your bike breaks down, it can leave you stranded a long way from home. One purpose of our family-owned bike shop is to not only sell bikes to our community. We also want to help ensure that every bike is performing its best. This means doing bicycle repairs as well as maintenance, like tune-ups. Our team has four levels of tune-ups that we perform on bicycles. Each level includes a more detailed service for the bike. Each type of tune-up also comes with all the services provided in the tune-up packages below it.
Basic Clean & Adjust Tune-Up

Armored Bike Worx‘s Basic Clean and Adjust is a tune-up package designed to prevent problems from arising by cleaning, adjusting, and tightening all the parts of the bike. If you get routine Clean and Adjust service, you are less likely to face costly bicycle repairs. Our technicians will give the entire bike a basic wash and lube in a Basic Clean and Adjust tune-up. They will grease all the cables and check the torque on all bolts. The technician will also adjust and align everything on the bike, including the brakes, shift leveler, handlebars, and derailleurs. Finally, we will perform a quality check, including a test ride, to check for any lingering performance issues.
Wheels & Bearings Tune-up

The second level of tune-up service we perform at Armored Bike Worx is the Wheels and Bearings package. All tune-ups are not about preventing bicycle repairs. This type of tune-up includes everything in the Basic Clean and Adjust package and service focused on maximizing the performance of the wheels and bearings. During this tune-up, our team will true the wheels and brake rotors. We will also resurface brake pads and trim housing cables when needed. Finally, the technicians adjust the bottom bracket, headset, and hubs. Once a Wheels and Bearings tune-up is performed, your bike will ride better than ever.
Drivetrain Repairs & Tune-up

Armored Bike Worx’s second-highest tune-up is the Drivetrain Degrease service, which thoroughly cleanses a bike from any grease that may cause problems down the road or even lead to costly bicycle repairs. For many types of grease and gunk, a basic wash will not free many of the moving parts from the worst kinds of caked-on crud. We will carefully degrease all drivetrain components in this service, including the crankset, chain, cassette, and derailleurs. Simultaneously, we true the wheels and adjust the spoke tension to make sure all rims are perfectly round and sturdy.
Comprehensive Overhaul

Our Comprehensive Overhaul is the most popular tune-up package among serious cyclists. This service certainly avoids unnecessary bicycle repairs, but more importantly, it rewinds time, making your bike ride as smooth as the day you got it. In this type of maintenance, Armored Bike Worx’s expert team covers everything. We perform all the services included in the first three levels of tune-ups. Then, we completely disassemble the bike and perform a thorough washing and degreasing of each individual component. Afterward, we put the bike back together, ensuring every bolt is perfectly torqued and every bearing is carefully oiled.
